We are located in a very rural and hilly area in central Pembrokeshire. Dyffryn Isaf is about a mile down a country lane from the village of Llandissilio:

In the village you find two pubs, a post office and a bakery. You can walk or cycle along the quiet country lanes around us, and within ten minutes you reach the Landsker Borderland Trail, a long-distance walking path. Have a look at our walk to the Cleddau valley, right here from our farm.

The magnificent coastline is easily accessible, the sandy beaches of Tenby are about 30 minutes, and so is the wilder coast in north Pembrokeshire or Whitesands Bay in the west. Come with us on a walk to St Govan's chapel which nestles in a rock cove right on the coast.

The Preseli Mountains are close by, on a good day you can see them from one of our fields. And here is another walk for you to look at, a walk in the Preseli's.

The small town of Narberth is only about five miles away and offers shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, galleries and a local history museum. In general the area offers lots of local arts and crafts and produce. For example the various small cheesemakers are gaining a very good reputation. The award-winning organic Cilowen cheese is made in the next village. Potteries and small galleries abound, one of them the new gallery of Linda Norris, a Pembrokeshire painter.

Wales has of course a rich heritage of the crafts and industries to do with wool. Have a look at our West Wales Wool Trail to find out about small woollen mills and craft studios.

Many witnesses to the rich history of Wales can be found nearby, for example the prehistoric cromlech Pentre Ifan in the Preseli Hills, numerous standing stone formations and castles as diverse as Carew Castle and Pembroke Castle. At Castell Henllys the life of iron age people is recreated for you.

Wildlife is magnificent along the coastline of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, bus also further inland. The Cleddau Estuary provides breeding ground for birds, and in general Pembrokeshire is popular for birdwatching. Red kites are seen and Red Kite Country is not far away. The many rivers around here offer good fishing.

The islands of Skomer and Skockholm are excellent for birds:

The mild climate of South and West Wales provides conditions for some of the most luscious gardens, which are also places of historical interest. Aberglasney Gardens is a garden recreated from traces of the past, and the Botanical Garden of Wales with its beautiful glass dome, walled garden and many other features is certainly worth a visit. Both are not far away. Closer you can stroll through Colby Woodland Gardens or  Bro Meigan Gardens  and have delicious home-made cakes afterwards.

You can find more information about Pembrokeshire and local events here.
